Living in Limassol’s city centre
By far the greatest and most admirable form of wisdom is that needed to plan and beautify cities and human communities (Socrates). There is no greater truth than the need of people to live together in communities while at the same time enjoy their private life in their own unique haven. Limassol seems to tick both boxes.
““But ideal cities are very much the product of their own ages. Designed as complete urban statements, they bear the unmistakable imprint of their own culture and world view in every street and building.”
Limassol’s city centre is a vibrant collection of business, shopping and dining, defined by classic neighborhoods and new buildings. Across the length of Makarios Avenue, one sees the entire spectrum of the city’s daily life, with new shops and cafes opening constantly; it seems that for Limassol, the opening of large malls hasn’t taken people away from the city centre; on the contrary, it feels as if there is a need to work and live in the centre which is so close to the sea, that everyone is within an arm’s reach of the most exciting happenings in Limassol.
